PROJECT KHEL

What’s the first thought you have about playing and learning? Don’t they seem like opponents on the field? Learning means sitting with arms folded, serious and quiet, inside classrooms. Playing means arms stretched out, loud noises, laughter and fun. But in reality, playing and learning are not opponents. Playing is just another language that children have to learn as a part of their school syllabus.

This is exactly what Project KHEL specializes and inculcates in thousands of school-going children in India. We use the language of play to impart what is untaught and speak what is unsaid. By creating joyful, friendly and safe learning spaces on the playground, we encourage children to be spontaneous and express themselves freely. Our methodology and modules have been created with an emphasis on gender – which we integrate in our actions, our words and our purpose. Over time, our form (play) and content (life skills and gender) help transform children into confident, secure, gender-sensitive and informed citizens.

Our work with children over the years has also given us the expertise to make message oriented training programs. We have the ability to ideate and create special games for particular topics which might be hard to communicate otherwise.
